Pro-Life Kelburne Men's 5s Beat Helensburgh 2s 3-2
On 18.11.17 - First Half and Helensburgh scored a goal in the first minute, catching the Kelburne defence napping. Kelburne, who had started slowly, came more into the game and started to create several chances. Midway through the first half Kelburne equalised thanks to a Don Tervit's goal after some lovely stick skill within the D. Kelburne continued to press having the best of the play but could not get the go ahead goal. In the dying minutes of the first half Helensburgh took the lead from a break away. The attacker beat Willie Hunt, the last line of defence, and scored from short range against young keeper Rowan McClure. Half-time: Kelburne 5s 1 – 2.Helensburgh 2s Second Half Kelburne started the second half in control limiting Helensburgh to a few break aways. They had the best of the play for all of the second half, squandering numerous chances including several short corners. Midway through the second half Don scored his second goal, very similar to his first, to draw Kelburne level once more. Kelburne pushed forward looking for a deserved winner. In the last few minutes of the game Kelburne were awarded a penalty corner . The ball was heading to goal when it struck the foot of a Helensburgh player, penalty flick to Kelburne. Hamish Walker stepped up, took the penalty and scored to give Kelburne a deserved victory. Full-time: Kelburne 5s 3 – 2
