For the 1st 10 minutes it was a tight game as the young Kelburne team adjusted to the difficult pitch. After they had settled down they created the first real chance of the game. Lucas Farndale won the ball in the middle of the park and, as Kelburne pushed forward, they won a short corner. From this they came very close as Willie Hunt shot just wide of right hand post

Kelburne continued to press and create chances and they got the break through in 20 minutes. Some fine play from defence to attack resulted in Lucas Farndale firing the ball home for a much deserved goal. 

Kelburne continued to press for another goal with some fine play and resulting in another 2 short corners back to back in the last few minutes of the 1st half.

HT East Kilbride 3s 0-1 ProLife Kelburne 5s

The Kelburne team came out strong in the 2nd half with some fine play from youngster Fergus Noble and old guard William Hunt.

East Kilbride had a few attempts at goal but the Kelburne defence held strong, defending 3 short corners with William Hunt, Ewan Crawford, Scott Peters, Ryan Wood and Hamish Walker restricting the East Kilbride team to a few half chances

Kelburne's 2nd goal came in the 17th minute of the 2nd half. Again a well worked goal from defence to midfield for John Miller to force the ball home to get a goal his play deserved

Several further chances fell to the Kelburne youngsters as they took control of the game with Sam Hunt, Aaron O'Hear, Callum Stewart, Callum Flemming and Callum Brown all growing in confidence and passing and moving to keep the East Kilbride defence on the back foot.

26 minutes into the 2nd half Kelburne's Lucas Farndale received a green card as he had been complaining to the umpire about some decisions. This left Kelburne down to 10 men for 2 minutes but East Kilbride could not find a way back into the game

Kelburne thought they had a third goal in the 30th minute when an Ian McIntyre shot deflected into the net but it was chalked off as the umpire deemed his shot was outside of the D. 

Kelburne finished the strongest, giving a well deserved first win to the young 5s team.
