Pro-Life Kelburne Mens 5s Beat Western Wildcats 4s - 5-3

On 17.02.18 - Kelburne started well and with 5 mins gone they won a free hit just outside the Western D from which a shot from Don Tervit hit the post and bounced to safety. Shortly after a good pass by Don fell to youngster Aaron O'Hear who was unlucky to see his shot on goal go narrowly past. Great play by Aaron got the first short comer of the game for Kelburne but this came to nothing. With 10 mins gone great link up play by Dick Donaldson, Tommy Austin and Scott Peters earned a long comer. From this a great shot by Aaron brought out a good save by the Western keeper. Kelburne finally got the goal their play deserved after 12 mins when a short corner was fired home by Don 1-0 Kelburne. Kelburne continued to have all of the play with everyone working hard all over the pitch. Kelburne doubled their lead on 25 mins when Don fired home after some great play. In one of Westerns few attacks of the first half the danger was cleared by a great tackle by Willie Hunt. A great drive by Dick Donaldson down the right into the D and Jack Nelson was unlucky with his shot. With 30 minutes gone great play by Kelburne in the attacking half was unlucky to break down after great play by Tommy and Rory Donaldson. Any chance of a Western goal was stopped by a great tackle by Callum Stewart on the right to break up the play and clear the danger as we reached halftime.
